Welcome to Number 5
Here, on our little corner of the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja peninsula the skies are dark, empty beaches stretch for miles, and when you swim, you share the ocean only with the Mobula Rays and Humpback Whales.
Just a 25 minute drive from the old downtown of San Jose del Cabo, Number 5 is a retreat away from the noise and density of the world. It is a place of nature and peace. Wander the mediation walk through the cactus garden, spread out on the couches surrounding the fire-pit, swim in the ocean-front pool, enjoy the hot tub under the stars.
But of course, writing is why you are here, so while every bedroom has a desk, there are also many shady outdoor spaces to seclude yourself. And high-speed internet is accessible from all corners of the property.
Though breakfast and lunch are self-serve, dinner is a sit-down affair with fresh salads and vegetables from our own organic garden, fresh fish caught in our own backyard, and fresh breads baked every day.
Being this close to nature also means that we are keenly aware of how our presence impacts the world around us. Number 5 is entirely solar powered and we make and purify all of our own drinking water from the ocean with solar powered desalinization and purification systems.
How to Apply
Applications by Invitation Only.
Selected artists may request a residency duration between 1 and 2 weeks.
Accommodation and food are free of charge.
All food is pescatarian with gluten free options available.
Artists are responsible for their own transportation to and from Los Cabos Airport.
